With 20 years of commercial real estate industry experience, Rob Rotach, Senior Managing Director, is responsible for nationwide loan originations based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Bethesda, Maryland office. Mr. Rotach specializes in the origination of multifamily loans through FHA/HUD, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, as well as Walker & Dunlop’s proprietary bridge loan program. Mr. Rotach brings significant experience in structuring complex affordable transactions involving low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) and Section 8, as well as historic tax credit transactions that involve adapted re-use of historic buildings. Throughout his career, Mr. Rotach has been involved with the origination, structuring, underwriting, and closing of over $2.5 billion in total loan volume.

Previously, Mr. Rotach served as the deputy chief underwriter of the Walker & Dunlop FHA Finance group, where he managed the underwriting, credit review and due diligence process for FHA/HUD multifamily and healthcare loans. Mr. Rotach was a contributing member on HUD’s LIHTC PILOT Program and Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) lender sub-committees and was selected to participate as part of a lender/HUD task force charged with the planning, pre-development, and implementation of the innovative process improvement of the LEAN and MAP HUD programs.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Rotach served as an assistant vice president and senior FHA underwriter at Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital (formerly Reilly Mortgage Group) where he was responsible for managing the underwriting, due diligence and closing process for FHA/HUD insured multifamily loans.

Mr. Rotach earned his Bachelor of Science in financial economics from James Madison University.
