J.D. Bondurant is the director of tax credit programs for Virginia Housing, where he oversees the annual allocation of over $35 million in housing credits. In this role, he is also responsible for the establishment of short and long-term program strategies while developing, directing, and supporting all allocation activities related to Virginia’s low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) program. Bondurant has worked in support of Virginia Housing’s strategic and operational planning, as well as state inter-agency housing policy and planning initiatives, for over 15 years. During his tenure as director, Virginia’s LIHTC program has seen the implementation and success of 9%/4% hybrid deals, record growth in 4% credit production, and a newly created state housing tax credit. He has a bachelor’s degree from Emory and Henry College and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
