Bio:
Ila Afsharipour joined Wells Fargo in 2024 serving as managing director and head of the firm's real estate, securitization, and affordable housing practice. In his role, Afsharipour provides investment banking and capital markets advisory services nationally to multifamily residential developers, owner/operators of affordable housing, direct lenders, and local and state housing finance agencies. Over the course of his 20+ year investment banking career, Afsharipour has been involved in over $15 billion of tax-exempt and taxable financings. Afsharipour has extensive experience with private placements, unenhanced and unrated bonds, government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) structures, tender option bond programs, structured trades and interest rate derivatives.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Afsharipour had leadership roles as a member of the Public Finance department at KeyBanc Capital Markets, US Bancorp and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Afsharipour has served on the board of directors and advisory committees of several community focused nonprofit organizations. Afsharipour received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 52, 53, 63, and 79 licenses.
